The innovative PWP99MB “nuclear version” plasma welding torch requires the use of special radiation resistant materials in the construction as well as being able to offer a quick-change facility for remote operation.
Such a high specification requirement is due to the fact that they are used in very high radiation areas where direct human operation and manipulation is not possible. This also applies to the power, gas and coolant connections to the welding plant where specialist connectors are specified.
