1. Setting Up Your Welding Parameters

Before saving a job, it’s essential to ensure that your welding parameters are configured correctly. These settings will vary depending on the type of welding you’re doing, such as TIG, MIG, or other processes. Here’s a list of key parameters to configure:

  • Welding Process: Select the appropriate process, such as TIG, MIG, or Stick welding, depending on your task.
  • Current Settings: Set the welding current to match the material type and thickness you are working with.
  • Pulse Settings: If you’re using pulse welding, adjust the frequency, peak current, and base current.
  • Gas Settings: For processes like TIG welding, make sure the gas flow is set correctly for your material and process.
  • Arc Length or Fine Adjustments: Fine-tune the arc length or any other specific adjustments to ensure smooth, stable welding.

Once you’ve set all the necessary parameters for your task, you’re ready to save the job.

2. Save the Current Settings

On the righthand side of the screen you will see the ‘Save as Job’ button. Follow these steps:

  • Press “Save as Job” button, this will take you into the ”Store Job” screen and defaults on “Create a new Job”.
  • Press the “Next” button, this will take you to the and the “Job number” shown is the next consecutive number available – you can change this for any currently free number or keep it.
  • Press the “Next” button, this will take you to the “Job name” You can either name the Job or leave it as just the number selected in the previous screen. Either way press the “OK” tick button to continue to the “Finish” screen
  • Press the “Finish” button and the Fronius iWave will store these settings in its memory for future use.

3. Recalling Saved Jobs

The real beauty of saving jobs on the Fronius iWave is the ability to quickly recall your settings. When you’re ready to use a saved job:

  • Go to the Job Memory Menu, via the “Welding process” button on the front screen
  • Press the “Welding process” button and then the “Job Welding process” button, this will take you to the welding parameters screen
  • Select the Saved Job: Press the “Job: ‘****’” bar at the top of the screen and browse through your saved jobs and select the one you need.
  • Once selected, the iWave will load all the saved parameters for that specific job, allowing you to start welding with the exact settings you previously used.

4. Job Management

The Fronius iWave, gives you the ability to save multiple jobs. This feature allows you to store settings for different materials, processes, or welding applications. Job management is especially useful when:

  • Switching between various materials (e.g., steel, aluminum, stainless steel).
  • Switching between welding processes (e.g., TIG to MIG).
  • Working on different projects that require unique settings.

By saving several jobs, you can easily switch between them as your project evolves, improving both consistency and efficiency.

5. Conclusion: Boost Your Welding Efficiency

Saving welding jobs on the Fronius iWave is a simple yet powerful way to streamline your workflow. By configuring and saving your welding parameters, you ensure that you can easily recall the settings needed for specific tasks, reducing setup time and enhancing consistency. Whether you’re working on different materials, processes, or projects, the iWave’s job-saving feature allows you to save time and maintain high-quality results every time.
